Frequently Asked Questions

A retina specialist is an ophthalmologist with advanced training in diagnosing and treating conditions affecting the retina—the light-sensitive tissue at the back of your eye. You should see a retina specialist if you experience sudden flashes, floaters, vision loss, or if you’ve been diagnosed with conditions like macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, or a retinal tear or detachment.

No, a referral is not required. You’re welcome to call us directly to schedule a consultation. However, if your insurance requires a referral for specialist visits, we recommend checking with your provider first.

We’ll review your results together, explain your diagnosis clearly, and discuss treatment options. Please allow approximately 1-2 hours for your initial appointment, as your eyes may be dilated.

We accept most major insurance plans, including Medicare. Please contact our office or visit our Insurance page to confirm that we accept your specific plan before your appointment.
